Full course description

Participants will:

  • Be introduced to the field of assistive technology (AT)
  • Develop a working definition of AT
  • Learn about a wide range of AT devices that can benefit individuals across the lifespan
  • Learn about the legal mandates for schools and universities to provide technology devices and services for students with disabilities in educational and employment settings
  • Use a case study approach to examine AT practice to increase individuals participation in their daily activities, school, and employment
  • Learn about an AT assessment and how it can be used to foster the implementation of AT

  • K-12 special and general educators
  • DVR counselors
  • College and university support staff
  • Any individual interested in AT
