The goal of this course is to increase the participant’s knowledge and comfort level when supporting individuals who use AAC/SPGDs.

Course Objectives:

Demonstrate an understanding of common AAC terminology and multimodal communication.

Demonstrate an understanding of the three step approach to AAC/SGD intervention.

Demonstrate an understanding of message management and vocabulary selection.

Demonstrate an understanding of the four communication competencies related to AAC.

Demonstrate an understanding of skills needed by communication partners for successful implementation. implementation.
